Jamon Pringles

La gente de España encantan sus jamón. Los supermercados venden muchos tipos de jamón incluyendo Pringles de jamón. No compró los Pringles de jamón.

La Comida de Oviedo

La comida de España es muy diferente a los Estados Unidos. La gente de España come mucho jamón y muchos tipos de jamón. La primera noche que estuve en Oviedo mi familia y yo fuimos a un restaurante para cenar. Comimos burritos, pero los burritos en Oviedo son muy diferentes a los burritos de los Estados Unidos. No tienen arroz, frijoles, ni salsa. Pero, me gustan los burritos de España también.

El segundo día que estuve en Oviedo, yo cene en la cafetería de mi mamá. La cafetería se llama Pico Poll. Mi mamá, mi amiga Mary Beth, la madre de Mary Beth, y yo comimos muchas tapas. Mi tapa favorita es tortilla con patatas. La tortilla no es una tortilla americana, es huevos y patatas y es similar a un quiche. Me gusta mucho la tortilla y yo comí toda mi tortilla. En la cafetería de mi madre, bebimos Tinto de Verano y Coca Cola Light. Tinto de Verano es una bebida muy popular en Oviedo. Tiene vino y casera.

Ayer, fuimos al Campo de San Francisco para la fiesta de Martes de Campo. La madre de Mary Beth cocinó comida para un picnic. Tenemos pollo, tortilla, fruta, y pan con chorizos. Pan con chorizos es muy especial de Oviedo, pero, no me gustan chorizos.

Thoughts on Spain

¡Hola!

I leave for Spain in three days and I am starting to get very eager to be done with all this waiting and just go. This will be my second time going to Spain, but my first time living there! I am so excited to enhance my Spanish language skills as well as learn about the culture and people of Spain.

My emotions about the trip are all over the place: I am anxious to meet my host family and see what they will be like, I am nervous that I will forget to pack something important, I am sad to leave my family, but mostly I am looking forward to all the new things I will learn and adventures I will have while in Spain!

I am sure the hardest part about living in Spain will be relying on my ability to speak Spanish. It wont be like speaking Spanish in a class where you can stop half way through a sentence and ask the teacher how to say something. I will have to figure out ways to say what I want and adjust to the language quickly.

While doing the study abroad program I hope to gain strong Spanish skills and an understanding for the Spanish culture.
